Excerpt: The end of a school year means saying goodbye. This is a good thing for some people that are ready for a break. Others are sad to bid farewell to the teachers, friends, and school building where they have spent so much time.

Before Jesus ascended (went up) into heaven, he said goodbye by leaving the disciples with a set of instructions called The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20). This was the best way to ensure that his friends would remember Jesus and serve God as well. Excerpt: I usually wake up early every morning to get ready for school. I like school, it's so much fun! I play pogs (circular cardboardy paper disks that we use to hit against others to flip them over) with other kids at school. I have so many pogs at my house now, from winning them. I hold them all in a white sack. It used to hold pencils. My favorite pencil was one that had flames on it, but the tip broke and I sharpened it too small so I can't use it. Then my sharpener broke so it wasn't good. people in attendance, which made me feel good. I was pretty nervous to run the
computer. I mean, if I messed up, everyone in the whole church would know it.
People were really nice to me afterwards, except for one lady who didn't like
the music, but I didn't pick the songs so I'm not going to worry about it.

Then, on Sunday our youth...

Moses Never Had a Tablet Like This

Erik Ullestad
Excerpt: The Apple Company, makers of the iPod, iPhone and Mac computers, released it's latest gadget—the iPad—on Saturday, April 3. Some describe the iPad as an oversized iPod touch. Others think it's more like a touch-screen computer with no keyboard or mouse. iPad enthusiasts have already developed more than 150,000 applications that can be used on the new device. One of the most common uses for the iPad is reading books, magazines, or newspapers in digital form. Users can download these...

Bread and Wine

Erik Ullestad
Excerpt: "What does that bread taste like?"

My five-year-old son was curious about what the communion wafer tasted like. He was so curious, in fact, that he felt the need to whisper-shout his question at me as we walked back to our pew after communion.

"It doesn't really taste like anything," was my terse reply.

His questions continued in the van.

"Why are you having bread and wine in church?"

I explained that bread and wine are symbols of Jesus' body and blood (Luke
22:7-23)....
