Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live on the moon? Scientists recently discovered a large hole in the moon that could allow humans to one day establish a lunar colony. 



The crater, also called a "lava tube," is 213 feet wide and more than 260 feet deep. The hole is covered with a thin layer of lava. The lava protects the hole from the moon's volatile temperatures, which makes it easier for scientists to envision humans establishing a lunar base.
